The OxMan

The OxMan is a long course triathlon, duathlon or aquabike (swim/bike). The triathlon & duathlon can be done as a team or individually.


Distances

  • Swim 1.9km (or Run 7.5km)

    • The swim is held in a clean and clear irrigation lake. The course will be made up of two laps.

      • The start will be next to the lake house, the finish will be ~200m down the lake where you exit the water and run over the bank to transition.

    • The duathlon option will be 1 lap of the run course starting from the finish line.

    • The cut off for the swim is 1hr after the start of the race.

  • Bike 92km (2 laps)

    • The bike course traverses across to Cust, up and over Summer Hill & German Road, through Oxford, down Harewood Road, past the race site and out for a 2nd lap

    • There will be an aid station positioned across from the race site. This aid station will only supply water and sports drink (PURE - lemon flavour). You will be responsible for carrying any other nutrition you require.

    • The cut off for the bike is 4.5hrs after the start of the race.

  • Run 21km (3 laps plus the 1km section from transition to the turn by the finish line)

    • The run course is laps of an out and back course. There is a mix of shingle and sealed roads.

    • Course description

      • To start you will exit transition and turn left to run along the grass verge on South Eyre Road

      • Turn left on the first shingle road

      • Left into Harewood road

      • Left into the shingle road to the finish line

      • Turn by the finish line to commence your 3 laps

      • Left into Harewood Road

      • Right into Poyntzs Road

      • Right into Worlingham Rd to the turn point

      • Return on Poyntzs Rd & Harewood Rd to the turn point or finish line.

    • There will be an aid station in the middle of the run lap which you pass it twice each lap. This aid station will carry

      • Water

      • PURE sports drink

      • PURE gels

      • Coke

      • Lollies

      • Banana’s

    • The cut off for the run is 7hrs30mins after the start of the race.

  • Aquabike athletes

    • Your finish time will be calculated when you enter transition but we’d still like you to enjoy running down the finish chute. So….

      • You have the option of the 1km run around to the finish line. Exit the same way as the triathletes and duathletes towards the finish line.

      • This run, or it can be a walk, is ~1km

      • Or you can just stop in transition.

OxMan Multisport

The OxMan Multisport is made up of a run/bike/run/kayak. It can be done as a team or individually.

Distances:

  • Run

    • 2km starting with the OxMan Mini duathletes

      • IMPORTANT - the start line is on South Eyre Road just past the bike exit.

      • Start by running down South Eyre Rd, turn left at the first shingle road

      • Left into Harewood road followed by left into the shingle road to the finish line.

      • Turn at the finish line

      • At Harewood road turn right then right again to take you back to South Eyre Road.

      • Run down the grass verge on South Eyre Road to transition entering down the bike entry channel. There will be a cross over point with cyclists existing transition so enter carefully.

  • Bike 46km

    • The bike course traverses across to Cust, up and over Summer Hill & German Road, through Oxford, down Harewood Road before merging back onto South Eyre Road to complete the ride

  • Run 14.5km

    • The run course is two laps of an out and back course after the initial leg from transition to the finish zone.

      1. Course description

        1. To start you will exit transition and turn left to run along the grass verge on South Eyre Road

        2. Turn left on the first shingle road

        3. Left into Harewood road

        4. Left into the shingle road to the finish line

        5. Turn by the finish line to commence your 2 laps

        6. Left into Harewood Road

        7. Right into Poyntzs Road

        8. Right into Worlingham Rd to the turn point

        9. Return on Poyntzs Rd & Harewood Rd to the turn point or the kayak transition.

Kayak ~10km - laps of the lake

  • The transition to the kayak leg will be ~100-200m before the finish line. As you finish the 14.5km run transition to the kayak stage.

  • Enter the water and complete 10 laps (we will have lap counters to help count laps)

  • The course will follow the yellow buoys in a clockwise direction

  • Exit the kayak and run the 100-200m to the finish line.


 

 

Mini OxMan

The Mini OxMan is a short course triathlon or duathlon. It can be done as a team or individually.

Distances

  • Swim 750m (or run 2km)

    • The swim is held in a clean and clear irrigation lake. The course will be made up of one lap. The start will be next to the lake house, the finish will be ~200m down the lake where you exit the water and run over the bank to transition.

    • The duathlon option :

      • 2km starting with the OxMan Multi athletes

        • IMPORTANT - the start line is on South Eyre Road just past the bike exit.

        • Start by running down South Eyre Rd, turn left at the first shingle road

        • Left into Harewood road followed by left into the shingle road to the finish line.

        • Turn at the finish line

        • At Harewood road turn right then right again to take you back to South Eyre Road.

        • Run down the grass verge on South Eyre Road to transition entering down the bike entry channel. There will be a cross over point with cyclists existing transition so enter carefully.

        9. Return on Poyntzs Rd & Harewood Rd to the finish.

      2. Aquabike athletes

        • Your finish time will be calculated when you enter transition but we’d still like you to enjoy running down the finish chute. So….

Junior OxMan

The “Junior OxMan” is a short course triathlon or duathlon for athletes aged 10-16 years. It can be done as a team or individually.

Distances

  • Swim 200m or Run 1km

    • The swim is held in a clean and clear irrigation lake. The course will be a point to point (swimmers will be out of their depth).

      • The start will be next to the lake house, the finish will be ~150m down the lake swimmers exit the water and run over the bank to transition.

    • The duathlon option will start at the finish line. Running towards Harewood Road, right into Harewood Road, right into the first shingle road, right onto South Eyre Road on the grass verge to transition.


  • Bike 11.5km

  • Run 3.5km

    • The run course is one lap of an out and back course after the initial leg from transition to the finish zone.

      1. Course description

        1. To start you will exit transition and turn left to run along the grass verge on South Eyre Road

        2. Turn left on the first shingle road

        3. Left into Harewood road

        4. Left into the shingle road to the finish line

        5. Turn by the finish line to commence out and back leg

        6. Left into Harewood Road

        7. Turn at the junior run turn by the aid station

        8. Return to the finish line

 OxMan Run only events

OxRun (21km) & OxDash (7km)

The run only events will follow the same run course as all the other events. The start will be at the same time as the Mini OxMan

  • OxRun (21km)

    • IMPORTANT - the start line is on South Eyre Road just past the bike exit.

    • Start by running down South Eyre Rd, turn left at the first shingle road

    • Left into Harewood road followed by left into the shingle road to the finish line.

    • Turn at the finish line for the main lap. 3 laps for the OxRun, 1 lap for the OxDash

      • Left into Harewood Road (** IMPORTANT - Mini OxMan and OxMan Multisport athletes will be turning right at this point to head to transition, run only athletes must turn left)

      • Right into Poyntzs Road

      • Right into Worlingham Rd to the turn point

      • Return on Poyntzs Rd & Harewood Rd to the turn point or finish line.

OxKids Duathlon

To ensure we have “something for everyone” the kids duathlon is for 5-9 year olds. This run/bike/run will be on a shingle road (Harewood Road)

Run #1 - From the transition area run on the grass verge to the turn point and back

Bike - the bike is a simple out and back route on Harewood Road (a closed shingle road)

Run #2 - Repeat run #1. At the end of the lap run past the transition, turn left to the finish line
